Final Reflection ~ Assignment Thirty

It is weird going through all of my blogs and seeing how far we have come from that first introduction and bug list everyone wrote.

The most formative blog was the blog when we had to interview people we knew and ask them what they thought was different about us and what makes us "special". It's easy to get down on yourself and become negative when things don't go exactly the way you planned. Also, when I fail, the first thing I think about is how my family and friends around going to react. I don't know if this happens to you, but it happens to me a lot. To hear my family say those things about me, meant a lot. I could fail 1,000,000 times and they would still be proud of me because they know that I would never give up. That is the blog that I will always remember.

My most joyous experience was reading about everyone's bug lists! I had never heard of a bug list before so I had a lot of fun writing about it. The best part was reading everyone's bug list. It was interesting to see what bugged them and find out if any of us had the same "bugs". Some of you guys had bugs that I didn't think of as well. I also loved the blog because it is a great way to find a problem. Sometimes we come up with great products or services to problems that have already been solved by other products or services.

The blogs that I am most proud of myself for completing are the elevator pitches. I don't know about everyone else but those took me forever to film. One, because the person recording me kept making me laugh and two, because I would mess up a line and then it was all over! By the third elevator pitch, I memorized a lot of the lines though which made it A LOT easier. Those were the blogs that I really didn't want to do but I knew I had to do them!

I feel like I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset but this class definitely enhanced it. I am not a fan of working for someone else. I never have been. I like setting my own hours. Some people say they like to set their own hours because they're lazy but if it is something I am passionate about, I do not mind working 15 hour days on it. Before I felt like my entrepreneurial mindset was stuck in a shell. This class has made me think outside the box. I know my idea throughout the semester was painting but I have actually been looking to find other ways of starting my rentals and flipping business now instead of waiting until later. I don't think that I would have started researching this if it weren't for this class.

If I were to give a piece of advice to future students, it would be to do every single assignment. There will be a lot of weeks that you check your grade to see if you could still get by with an A if you didn't write the blogs but DO NOT FALL INTO THAT! One of the reasons is because there might be a week that you HAVE to miss your assignments and the professors do not allow makeups. The second reason is because every assignment has a purpose behind it. Every assignment helps you think outside of the box and create new opportunities to make your dream a reality. To perform the best, I would suggest not procrastinating. It is easier said than done though. This semester I probably did 80% of my blogs on the day they were due. It creates extra stress that could have been avoided if I were to do them a couple days before the due date. Another piece of advice is to take the assignments seriously. It is easy to just get by in this class but there is a reason you took it. Don't waste your time and money treating it like an easy course. Put your heart into it and it will benefit you. To foster their mindset, like I said before, I would work ahead and do the assignments ahead of time.

In conclusion... To the students that I had in my group this semester... It was really nice communicating with you and following your business concept from start to finish. I loved reading about it and also reading when your ideas changed. I hope you guys have a great break and are successful in whatever you choose to do! Congratulations... WE ARE DONE! 😍

  1. It really is incredible to witness the progression of the group member’s potential entrepreneurial ventures and how they increasingly add components to their projects to make them stand out and practical for real world demand. I find your recommendations extremely accurate and helpful to students are registering for this course in the future. It was definitely a pleasure in having you as a fellow group member. 2. The Bug list was definitely cool to read others, but challenging to think of my own. I have loved watching your blog and business grow over this last semester. The elevator pitches got me too, I had my boyfriend record me so of course I couldn't keep a straight face and you mentioned you had to start all over if you messed up one line and I had to do that maybe a dozen times. Congrats on completing the course, and best of luck to your family, your boyfriend and of course you.

  3. I had a feeling I wasnt going to be the only one who posted about the elevator pitch. That was such an awkward but necessary assignment that took a while for me to get over. As far as everything else, it was good having you in our group and learning about your business was quite neat. Good luck to you in the future and I wish the best!
